Official Morab Registry Worldwide
The Morab horse is a breed combining the blood of
Morgan and Arabian horses
to form the Magnificent Morab. The Morab is the best of both worlds!
The International Morab Breeders' Association (I.M.B.A.)
is a full-service Morab breed association and registry for owners of Morabs and Half-Morabs. IMBA
is devoted to the promotion and enjoyment of Morab horses.
The I.M.B.A. was formed in 1986, and
Incorporated in 1987, by Morab horse breeders who wanted an organized outlet to
market and promote their Morab horses. The International Morab Registry (IMR)
was started in 1992, and represents Morabs back to 1973. The IMR requires
documented Arabian and Morgan bloodlines and allows no more than 75% Arabian to
25% Morgan, or vice versa. Thus, a Morab of 50% Morgan and 50% Arabian bloodlines can be bred
to purebred Morgans, Morabs, or Arabians for foals that are eligible for
registration in the IMR. This allows a breeder many options in matching mares and stallions for a
foal that truly offers the best of both breeds.
Today I.M.B.A. offers many
services:
- Membership
